I started any day a beautiful change in 2004, the summer before my third year of seminary. I had no idea what I was doing, but am glad I forged ahead anyway. I'm so grateful to have this space to keep in touch with people, connect with new friends, practice writing, and reflect on life, ministry, family, books, music, etcetera, whatever.
I am ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and currently serve as the Associate Minister of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs, which is affiliated with the United Church of Christ. That said, this blog is just personal, and any views expressed here do not represent the views of my denomination or the congregation I serve.
I am married to Ben Pershey, a kind-hearted and ruggedly handsome redhead. We met in poetry class. We have two daughters, Juliette and Genevieve. We love them a lot.
In addition to blogging, I have written for several publications, including The Christian Century. My first book, Any Day a Beautiful Change: A Story of Faith and Family was published by Chalice Press in collaboration with The Young Clergy Women Project in the spring of 2012.
I hope you have a nice day, and that the reflections on this blog might be a source of inspiration or laughter or something else equally pleasant.
