The stats: Naturalizer, 2-inch height each (the brown one is a wedge and the black Mary Janes have a reasonable heel), stylish but not trendy, grown-up but not frumpy, well-made but on sale. I may not have needed the brown ones as much as I needed the black ones (the black shoes I wear nearly every Sunday are not aging well), but they were just too darn cute and comfy to resist.
Edited to add: This well-timed post from Beauty Tips for Ministers.
Oh oh we were just talking about how hard it is to find good, normal-but-pretty-but-still-functional, shoes! I really like both pairs. Good job on the find.
ReplyDeleteI know you're all going to be jealous, but I saw the shoes in person. They were sweet, I had envy.
ReplyDeletei was a little worried when i read naturalizer before i saw the picture, but I WANT BOTH OF THOSE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so CUTE!!! I love your taste! Time to go shoe shoppin!
ReplyDeleteI saw those black ones on the Naturalizer web site the other day - LoveThem. I just bought a pair of aerosoles (it's okay, Marie) and they are sinfully cute for a brand with an "old lady" name, I thought.
ReplyDeleteOh, Charissa, be careful. We don't want Marie to faint! I know for a fact that her shoe mantra is "the pointier the better." ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm recovering from a bad shoe practice of spending good money on Birkenstocks and my trusty Danskos, but shlepping to Payless when I need dress shoes. The fact that I now posess dress shoes with the characteristics of my beloved orthopedics is astounding. You wouldn't believe how cushy they are.
i'm keen on dressy shoes with straps, too. not only are they cute, they keep my feet in the shoe!
ReplyDeleteExcellent shoe choices! I think Naturalizer and Aerosoles are beginning to reinvent their respective images. I got an Aerosoles catalog in the mail last week that had quite a few attractive styles.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm doing my part to evangelize Hem.
Look what you've started!
Very cute! I especially like the slight pointiness of the brown ones.
ReplyDeleteI love naturalizers, and I want both. Good choices. Now to see if I can find them here.
ReplyDeletegreat shoes :)
ReplyDeleteyes, naturalizer has definately improved as of late.
i read beauty tips for ministers too (and i'm not a minister -- i just think she is hilarious and usually dead-on).
They're both wonderful, but the black ones are to die for!
ReplyDeleteAnd the beauty tips for ministers was hilarious--thanks for sharing that.
